im making a scarf for my nephew, im having two knit pockets on the end with totoro on it, but i wanted to make it faster with crochet, but does knit look better? should i use a bigger needle and use two strands of yarn and knit, that will take faster right??
You can knit or crochet the scarf, your choice. You certainly can run two strands of yarn together and use a larger needle. I do it all the time. If you do that, be careful that you always get both strands knit correctly into each stitch. Check yourself every row, so you can fix any that are not correct before it becomes difficult to get back to them.

The best yarn is the one you that like the best. Easy answer.
But, really, it all depends on whether you want a soft yarn, a yarn that is funky looking, one that is going to last a long time, for daytime or evening, one that is very thin so you can knit or crochet a fine, lacey pattern. There are so many variables that it is really hard to recommend which one would be best for you.
Your best idea is to go to a store that sells yarn. Pick up the skeins and feel it(it’s called petting) to see how you like the feel, the texture. Ask a clerk for help and tell them what type of scarf you are going to make and if they have a suggestion. Don’t just buy something because of the price, buy it because you feel it is the right one for your project.
Many people think knitters and crocheters are nuts when we say that a yarn speaks to us. It not only speaks, it tells us which project it wants to be. You can tell this by when a project just seems to be fighting you every step of the way. When that happens, you need to choose another yarn. Go to yarn stores often, get used to what is available and by doing that you will come to learn to understand what yarns will go for various projects.

The silkworm contributes one of the most luxurious fabrics within a short time life cycle.
Uses
Silk has a widely application in a clothing industry such as formal dresses, fashion clothes, bathrobes, pajamas, scarves, cufflinks, and underwear. It is a perfect all season fabric. In summer silk makes it comfortable to wear in warm weather because of its good absorbency for moisture and its low conductivity keeps warm air close to the skin during winter season. Also the silk fabric can be transformed with a cashmere-like soft touch through napping so it brings warmer with this kind of silk Scarves and clothes. People love the shimmering appearance of silk but few know the reason. The shimmering comes from the fibers’ triangular prism-like structure which allows incoming light to refract at different angles.
