Scarfs for everyone – How to tie a Scarf

Well you see, I’m trying to crochet a basic, single stitch scarf and each and every time I try to begin, as soon as I get a third of the way through the second row, one or both ends decide to curl up on me. I’ve tried controlling the tension of my stitches, counting them, trying a different yarn, nothing seems to work. If anybody, anywhere could help me out here with this crochet crisis, it would be GREATLY appreciated. XD Thanks very much.

try working the starting chain with a hook that is at least 2 sizes larger than the one you will use for the main crochet. If this still causes curl then try an even larger one til the problem stops.

Another solution is to work your stitch into the little nub at the back of each chain on the starting chain instead of into the top of the chain. this will give a better base stitch.
